About the Authors

We, Margaret Bruce and Steve Yergovich, are madly in love. We decided to write a book together, and after all that, are still madly in love.

We live in an old house built by someone possessing only a vague notion of construction methods. We have evidence beer was involved. Our dogs Elliott (the furry sofa with legs) and Freyja (who would be a physicist if only she had opposable thumbs), our adult off-spring, and circle of friends (for whose encouragement we are profoundly grateful) have provided moral - and editorial - support. Katana, the ancient cat, entertains us with occasional projectile hairball events.

This book came about because we both enjoy ‘brain wrestling’ and often have spirited discussions about issues such as why critical thinking is so important and sometimes so difficult for some people, whether ethical behavior is an innate quality of humans or a learned behavior, and generally what makes us tick, as people, and societies.  Our muse lives in our old truck. One evening we were driving around and were struck by an idea. Margaret looked at Steve and said, “Hey! That’s really interesting! We should write a book!” And, so we did.

We hope our novel provides you with entertainment and enjoyable material for your own brain wrestling.

All our best,

Margaret and Steve
